This boat race is like none you've seen before as 2-person teams in boats built entirely from cardboard, duct tape, and glue will race down the Neuse River on Saturday, August 12!  The race will start at 5:00 p.m., with a DJ at the Boat Ramp from 4-7pm, and the Awards Ceremony at 6:45pm at the Neuse River Amphitheater, followed by a band from 7-9pm.

Join us on Saturday, August 12 for the 4th Annual Smithfield River Rat Regatta on the Neuse!  At 5:00 p.m., the race is on, and 2-person teams in boats built entirely from cardboard, duct tape, and glue will race from the boat ramp to Town Commons.  Awards will be given for Fastest (1st-2nd place) in the Youth (under 13) and (1st-3rd place) in the Adult divisions, Overall Best Decorated, and Titanic Award (Most Memorable Sinking), then enjoy the live band from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Neuse River Amphiteater!  For more information, including the rules and entry form, please click here.
