Ghost Walk

18th Century (Friendly) Ghost Walk
Be on the lookout on October 24th because rumor has it that there will be some ghosts out by the Riverside Cemetery in DT Smithfield!
Join the Heritage Center for their 20th Annual Historical Ghost Walk at 6-8:30 pm with six 18th century (friendly) ghostly residents from Johnston County’s past, giving us a glimpse into what life was like for them.
The line-up includes Mary Artis, Revolutionary War widow; Lydia Wood, colonial housewife; Col. William Bryan; Jeremiah Smith, enslaved Revolutionary War messenger; Governor Richard Caswell; and Rev. John Moore, pioneer Baptist minister.
Author James Parker will be on hand in the Hastings House during the event to sign copies of his new book, Ghostly North Carolina, which includes a number of Johnston County ghost stories. Organists Kelley Garris and Colton Barber will offer haunting music!
Admission charge is $5 for adults and $3 for students, payable at the event. No advance tickets will be sold.
