Walk, run, or bike along the 2.94-mile paved Neuse Riverwalk and Buffalo Creek Greenway.  
Connecting Downtown Smithfield with three schools, two historic neighborhoods, the Town of Smithfield's Community Park and Smithfield Recreation and Aquatics Center, Smithfield's greenway is part of the North Carolina Mountains to Sea Trail and the East Coast Greenway.
